Garment quote validity defines the period and conditions under which a factory’s stated price can be accepted. It matters when an overseas brand receives a women’s clothing quotation, spends time developing samples, and returns to place a bulk order after material availability or the order assortment has changed. An undated estimate is a weak basis for a production commitment.

For women’s clothing production in China, review the expiry date together with the specification, MOQ, sample fees and bulk unit price. This guide addresses the gap between receiving a quotation and accepting it. Preparing the original technical package is covered separately in the women’s clothing manufacturing RFQ guide.
Distinguish an estimate from an order-ready quotation
An estimate based on a photograph may help buyers assess feasibility, but it does not establish an approved fabric, garment measurement set or packing specification. Ask which assumptions still require confirmation. Mark a preliminary price as provisional in your purchasing record, rather than presenting it internally as a fixed production cost.
An order-ready quotation should identify the style revision, materials, quantity breakdown, currency, included work and commercial terms. It should also state its issue date and validity deadline. If sampling must be completed first, clarify whether the quoted bulk price is conditional on the final approved construction.

Define what the validity date actually covers
Ask whether acceptance requires a signed order, a specified payment milestone, material booking or another agreed action before the deadline. A quote’s validity does not by itself reserve fabric, supplier stock or factory capacity. Request separate confirmation of anything being held and the conditions attached to that reservation.
For cross-border transactions, use an unambiguous calendar date. If a precise cutoff matters, include the relevant time zone. Retain the accepted quotation revision with the order; avoid relying on a message saying only that the “previous price” is approved.
Keep the quoted MOQ and assortment visible
A price issued for a particular style and color breakdown should not be assumed to apply after quantities are reduced or colors added. Record the garment minimum and any separate fabric or trim purchase minimum. Ask whether small quantities create an additional material purchase or a separately charged setup.
When seeking quantity alternatives, request each option on the same approved product basis. A different material, simplified seam or reduced packaging scope should be shown as a separate proposal. This keeps a lower unit price from obscuring a specification change.
Separate sample fees from the bulk price commitment
Sample development can continue while a bulk estimate is approaching expiry. Before paying a sample invoice, ask whether the factory expects to reconfirm the bulk price after the final sample is approved. Identify the stage of sampling and the number of included revisions, together with material and courier charges.
The private label sample cost guide covers development fee components. For quote validity, the key issue is whether a paid sample fee creates any commitment about the later order price. Record any sample credit, qualifying order conditions and deadline explicitly; paying for development alone should not be interpreted as reserving a bulk price.
Request a dated revision when the basis changes
If fabric availability, order quantity, delivery requirements or approved details change, ask for a revised quotation that explains the affected items. Reference both the earlier and new versions. This gives the buyer a clear choice between approving the revision, adjusting the order or pausing the purchase.
| Situation | Confirmation to request |
|---|---|
| Validity deadline has passed | Written price reconfirmation or a new dated quotation |
| Quantity or color mix changes | Applicable MOQ and revised unit-price basis |
| Original fabric is unavailable | Alternative material identity, approval needs and price |
| Sampling changes construction | Final approved revision and any cost adjustment |
| Materials are booked before sewing | What is reserved, on whose account and under which terms |
Once an order has been accepted, later changes must be handled under its agreed terms. An expired preliminary estimate does not explain or authorize a change to an already accepted purchase order.

Match the accepted price to the production instruction
Before authorizing bulk work, check that the purchase order matches the accepted currency, unit price, quantity, separately charged services and delivery term. Confirm which specification revision controls production and who can approve a commercial change. Resolve conflicting attachments before releasing the order.
A buyer discussing custom clothing manufacturing services can request one coordinated review of sourcing, sampling and production assumptions. This helps identify unresolved inputs before a price is treated as final, while leaving the actual agreement tied to the factory’s written quotation.
Ask for a current women’s clothing quotation
Send Mugekoo the quotation reference or tech pack, preferred fabric, quantity by color and size, sample requirements and target delivery window. Request a current factory quotation specifying MOQ, sample fees, bulk unit price, validity date and any conditions for material or capacity reservation. Include a target budget if you have one, so possible specification alternatives can be discussed openly. Available materials, pricing and timing require confirmation for the actual order.
